Control copying per trader by assigning or removing the execution connection. Always treat open exchange positions as a separate responsibility.
Trader states
Settings > Traders shows one label per trader. That label reflects the execution connection only, so read it together with the Configuration column beside it.
| Label | Meaning | Can send a live order? |
|---|---|---|
| Watching | The trader is followed, but no execution connection is assigned. | No. |
| Copying | An execution connection is assigned. What actually happens then depends on the configuration. | Only when a configuration is also assigned and Dry Run is off. |
| Disabled | The trader is inactive for the account. | No. |
Where Dry Run fits
Dry Run is a property of the assigned configuration, not a separate trader label. A trader running a Dry Run configuration and a trader trading live both display Copying. To tell them apart, check the Configuration column, which appends dry run to the configuration summary, or open the configuration itself.
Start copying
- Confirm the intended Hyperliquid connection is healthy.
- Confirm the selected configuration has the limits you want.
- Edit the trader in Settings > Traders.
- Select the execution connection and trade configuration.
- Save and confirm the trader shows Copying.
Pause new copy actions
- Edit the trader.
- Set the Exchange field to No Copy Trading. This is the pause control; the configuration dropdown cannot be cleared back to none.
- Save and confirm the trader shows Watching.
- Open Hyperliquid and review any position or order that already exists.
Stop following a trader
- Pause copying first.
- Review and manage live exchange exposure.
- Remove the trader only after you no longer need its activity or copy history linked from the settings view.
If you need to stop immediately
- Open Hyperliquid first. Cancel or reduce the orders and positions you do not want.
- In FiatBear, remove the exchange assignment from every copied trader.
- Check Copy Trades for recent requests or errors.
- If the connection itself is compromised, use Hyperliquid's current controls to revoke the agent, then replace the FiatBear connection.
