Set a dollar budget for each copied position and one open-position limit for the whole Hyperliquid account. Start with FiatBear's account-based recommendation and Dry Run, then change a value only when you understand the extra exposure.
Where the settings apply
- Settings > Exchanges > Advanced Options applies to the whole connected account.
- Settings > Configurations > Advanced Settings applies only to traders using that configuration.
Set these first
Create and edit named configurations on Settings > Configurations. Set the account-wide position limit on Settings > Exchanges. A configuration can be assigned to several traders, but every trader using the same execution account shares that account limit.
| Setting | What it controls | Starting approach |
|---|---|---|
| Starting position budget | The most of your account balance FiatBear can put into a new copied position. | Use the account-based recommendation and review it before saving. |
| Maximum position budget | The most of your account balance FiatBear can put into one copied position after the source trader adds to it. | Keep it above the starting budget so the trader can add without making the first copy unnecessarily large. |
| Maximum open positions for this account | Maximum distinct non-zero markets across the execution account, including manual positions. | Use the recommendation. Lower it if several copied markets would overextend the account. |
| Dry Run | Records the calculated action without sending an exchange order. | Enable it for every new trader or material configuration change. |
Exchange Advanced Options
- Preferred Leverage
- The default leverage when a configuration leaves leverage empty. Set it to 0 to follow the copied trader's leverage.
- Max Leverage
- The highest leverage FiatBear may use on this account. It also caps configuration overrides and copied trader leverage. Leave it empty to use each market's exchange limit.
- Maximum open positions for this account
- The number of different markets that may be open across the account. Manual positions count too.
Sizing controls
The budgets control how much of your account balance FiatBear can use. Leverage can make the position shown on the exchange larger than the budget. For example, a $20 position budget at 5x leverage can create a position of about $100 before fees, slippage, or exchange adjustments. FiatBear reduces the trader's copied position to fit the budgets you set.
Initial cap versus total cap
The starting position budget limits a new opening. The maximum position budget limits later increases to that market. Set both. Otherwise a small initial copy can grow as the trader adds exposure.
How the account-wide position limit works
- The limit is shared by every followed trader and configuration using the same execution account.
- FiatBear counts distinct exchange symbols case-insensitively. Duplicate tracking rows for one market count once.
- Manual non-zero positions and new openings already being submitted reserve capacity.
- At the limit, a copy that would open a new market is skipped with an account-position-limit reason.
- Increases to an existing market, reductions, closes, and protective-order management remain available.
An older configuration can still contain a hidden legacy per-configuration count. FiatBear preserves and enforces it when it is lower than the account-wide limit, but new configurations do not create another count setting.
Configuration Advanced Settings
These settings affect only traders assigned to this configuration.
Entry and direction controls
- Limit
- How far the price may move from the trader's entry. If the price has moved past this range, no position opens. This helps avoid entering late.
- Copy Short Positions
- When disabled, new short positions are skipped. Existing copied positions still need normal management.
- Blocked Assets
- A comma-separated list of assets that must not be opened. Existing positions in those assets are not automatically closed by adding the block.
Exit controls
- Stop Loss
- Requests a close when the configured loss threshold is reached. Slippage and fast markets can make the realized loss different.
- Take Profit
- Requests a close at the configured profit threshold instead of waiting for the source trader to close.
Leave either field empty if you want FiatBear to continue following the trader's exit for that rule. Do not treat a stop setting as guaranteed execution at an exact price.
Preferred Leverage
- Leave it empty to use the leverage configured on the execution connection.
- Use the interface's special zero behavior only if you deliberately want the trader's leverage.
- Set a value to override the connection leverage for this configuration.
Higher leverage reduces the price move required for liquidation. It does not create more capital or make an oversized position safe.
Use Dry Run as a real gate
- Enable Dry Run and assign the configuration to one trader.
- Wait for a new qualifying trader event.
- Open Copy Trades and inspect the calculated size, direction, leverage, and any skip reason.
- Adjust one control at a time.
- Disable Dry Run only after the simulated result is predictable.
